What to Do in DFW this Weekend?

Believe it or not, it’s almost time to enjoy another three-day weekend here in the Dallas area. Even though it seems like we were just attending Memorial Day events, it’s already time to start planning what you will be doing this Labor Day. Today we’re going to help you find the best 2016 Labor Day events in the Dallas, TX area.

Bedford Blues & BBQ

The annual Bedford Blues & BBQ festival will be taking place this year from September 2-4 in Bedford, TX. On Friday, there will be a Backyard BBQ Competition so you can show off your chicken and rib cooking skills or you can just taste test them all. Those interested in competing can pre-register now. Participants can register as a group or as an individual and it costs $50 to enter. There will be prizes for first through third place for ribs and chicken categories. On Saturday and Sunday there will be live music all day, including Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Dr. John, Tommy Castro & The Pain Killers, Janiva Magness and more! The festival will take place at 2000 Forest Ridge Drive Bedford, TX. Tickets can be purchased online now.

2016 Labor Day Parade in Garland TX

Garland is hosting its annual Labor Day parade at 9 a.m. on September 5. It will take place on Main Street in Garland, TX and will feature local bands, sports groups, floats and more. It is a great community event to pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers.

2016 Labor Day at The Texas Pool Party

The Texas Pool in Plano is hosting an end-of-season pool party on Monday, September 5 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be hot dogs, games, prizes and more. It also marks the last day of the regular season pool season. Take advantage of this end-of-the-summer celebration!!
